Jamal Thiare will remain with Atlanta United.

The striker signed a one-year contract with a one-year option, the club said Wednesday. Atlanta United declined his one-year option for 2025 following the recently completed season, but said it wanted to renegotiate.

Thiare’s new salary wasn’t disclosed. He had a salary of $595,000 in the recently completed season, according to the MLSPA.

Thiare scored six goals in 25 regular-season appearances and two more goals in the playoffs.

Free-agency opened in MLS on Thursday. Thiare is the only striker on Atlanta United’s roster. Daniel Rios’ loan expired.

Atlanta United has two Designated Player slots available.
