Atlanta United academy players George Bello, Lagos Kunga and Patrick Okonkwo signed Homegrown Player contracts on Saturday with the MLS team that will be effective Jan. 1, 2018.
Bello, a 15-year-old defender from Douglasville, , plaued with Atlanta United U16s, making 20 appearances with 19 starts.
Kunga, an 18-year old forward from Atlanta, scored 10 goals in 21 appearances with the U18s. Kunga recently made four appearances and scored one goal to help lead the U.S. team to the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup tournament.
Okonkwo, an 18-year old forward from Atlanta, has 26 goals in 29 appearances with the U18s.
