Atlanta United players Miguel Almiron and Kenwyne Jones have been called up by their respective national teams to participate in upcoming games.

Almiron, an attacking midfielder, leads Atlanta United with seven goals. Paraguay will play Peru in a friendly on Thursday. He is scheduled to return for Saturday’s game at Chicago. Almiron, 23, has eight appearances for Paraguay.

Jones, a 32-year-old forward, has two goals for Atlanta United. He will be with Trinidad and Tobago for World Cup qualifying games against the U.S. on Thursday and Costa Rica on June 13. He will miss Saturday’s game at Chicago and will re-join Atlanta United after the game against Costa Rica. Jones has 88 appearances for Trinidad and Tobago. The Caribbean nation is sixth (last) in CONCACAF hexagonal standings with three points.

The 2018 World Cup will be held in Russia.
