Atlanta United's Ezequiel Barco has guaranteed compensation of $1,425,000 this season, according to salaries for all players on MLS teams released by the Players Association on Thursday.
Barco, the most expensive transfer in MLS history with a reported transfer fee of $15 million, has one goal this season in five appearances.
He isn’t the highest-paid player on Atlanta United.
Miguel Almiron, who has guaranteed compensation, of $2,297,000 is. Almiron has 15 goals and 19 assists in 40 appearances, including six goals and five assists this season.
Josef Martinez, the team’s third Designated Player, has guaranteed compensation of $1,387,318. He leads MLS with seven goals this season and is one of the most prolific strikers in league history with 26 goals in 30 appearances.
Total compensation paid to the 30 players on Atlanta United roster this season is $11,189,330.
Toronto’s Sebastian Giovinco is the league’s highest-paid player with guaranteed compensation of $7.1 million. He has 56 goals in 92 appearances and led Toronto to the MLS Cup last season. Toronto’s Michael Bradley is second with guaranteed compensation of $6.5 million. He has nine goals and 22 assists in 140 appearances in his MLS career. He has no goals and one assist this season.
