Atlanta United goalkeeper Alex Tambakis will join Charleston for its upcoming game at Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Tambakis, the team’s first announced signing, has yet to play for Atlanta United in a regular-season MLS game.

He has made numerous appearances for the Battery in the past 1 1/2 seasons.

Tambakis wasn’t part of the group of players that participated in Monday’s training.

Others who didn’t participate in all of the drills on Monday include centerhalf Michael Parkhurst, midfielders Jacob Peterson and Andrew Carleton, forward Kenwyne Jones and goalkeeper Alec Kann.

Peterson (ankle) and Jones (undisclosed) are both recovering from injuries and remain day to day. Parkhurst, who the team said is healthy, was given a day off. Kann is recovering from a quadrieps injury suffered in the win at Columbus and is expected to miss another 4-6 weeks. Carleton helped the team's Under-16 academy squad win the U.S. Soccer Developmental Academy national title on Sunday .

Atlanta United (9-7-3) will play at Orlando City (8-7-5) on Friday.

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan returned to training with Atlanta United on Monday after he wasn’t included in the U.S. men’s national team roster for the knockout rounds of the Gold Cup.
