Atlanta United named Catie Griggs vice president of business operations on Monday.
A former senior consultant at Futures Sport & Entertainment who advised on domestic and overseas audience acquisition and commercialization opportunities, Griggs will lead integrated marketing, strategy and operations for Atlanta United.
“Atlanta is my home and I've experienced the impact Atlanta United already has made on the city firsthand,” Griggs said in a statement. “I couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to work with (Atlanta United president Darren Eales) and the team to help build upon the unprecedented success the club has experienced in its inaugural season.”
Before her experience at Futures, Griggs spent five years at Turner Broadcasting in the areas of business development, business operations, strategic partnerships and overall strategy.
In August, Griggs— who has a BA and MBA from Dartmouth— was named a Game Changer by Sports Business Journal as a Game Changer, a honor for women who make an impact in the world of sports.
“Catie is an excellent addition to Atlanta United’s leadership team. She brings a diverse set of skills that will help the club continue to build on an incredible start, strengthen existing partnerships and elevate fan engagement,” Eales said in a statement. “Most importantly, we see Catie as a perfect fit for our team’s entrepreneurial culture and her leadership qualities and values-orientation as great assets to the growth of our team and associates.”
Griggs first day with the club is Tuesday.
