Even though they haven’t yet played inside their permanent home at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta United leads the MLS in attendance.

Atlanta United averaged 46,482 attendees in all eight sold out home matches at Georgia Tech's Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Longtime leader in league attendance the Seattle Sounder trail Atlanta in average attendance this season with 42,628 per match. The average attendance for an MLS game this season is 21,327, according to Fox Sports.

"I thought it would take us more time to create that soccer culture and our own Atlanta United culture, but from day one it's been the most unbelievable atmosphere," Atlanta United president Darren Eales said, according to Fox Sports. "The fans stand for the whole 90 minutes. They've got their own chants with Tifos, big flags that flail before a game."

During the inaugural season, Atlanta has a 6-2 record at home.

Atlanta United’s next home match is on July 29 against Orlando City, but before then, the two teams face off in Orlando on July 21.
