Atlanta United spent last week’s training sessions working on improving fitness and competitiveness, according to captain Michael Parkhurst and Julian Gressel.
The team didn’t have an MLS game after going 2-1 in its first three. Instead, manager Gerardo Martino put the team through several small-side games, as well as some drills designed to improve individual and collective defending.
Atlanta United will play at Minnesota United on Saturday.
“The more repetitions we get with that the better we get,” Parkhurst said. “I think we feel confident going into the weekend that individual matchups we can win.”
