My choice for Atlanta United’s man of the match following Saturday’s game against Colorado at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium:

JOSEF MARTINEZ

Striker

Why: He scored his second goal in league play since returning from a thigh injury. The goal, his seventh in MLS, came in his first start since returning. The strike came in the 67th minute on an assist from Brandon Vazquez.

Quote from Martinez:

“It was an important victory against a team that really complicated things for us. They defended really well with a lot of guys and tried to get out on some counters but it was a very important win and we were happy to get the three points.”
