Atlanta United has added centerhalf Anton Walkes on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Walkes, 19, is a Discovery Signing with one senior appearance for Spurs, which came in the EFL Cup. He had made several appearances in friendlies.

Walkes, who is 6-foot-2, can play centerhalf or as a defensive midfielder.

“Anton has a bright future and we’re thrilled to have him continue his development at our club,” Atlanta United president Darren Eales said in a statement from the team. “He’s a young player who’s already been part of the first team squad at Spurs, featuring often throughout the summer until his official debut in the League Cup in September. He’ll be a welcome addition to our club.”

Before joining Atlanta United, Eales worked at Tottenham.
