Atlanta United adds more preseason games

Atlanta United has add three more games to its preseason schedule while in California for a total of four. None are open to the public:

Feb. 2 vs. Seattle at Cal-State Fullerton.

Feb. 6 vs. Tijuana at Cal-State Fullerton.

Feb. 10 vs. LAFC at Banc of California Stadium.

Feb. 13 vs. L.A. Galaxy at Cal-State Fullerton.

Seattle advanced to the semifinals of the Western Conference playoffs last season.

Tijuana plays in LIGA MX, Mexico’s first division, and is coached by former Dallas manager Oscar Pareja.

LAFC was eliminated in the knockout round of last year’s playoffs. Its roster includes Lawrenceville’s Walker Zimmerman.

The L.A. Galaxy didn’t make the playoffs last season, but its roster includes striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who figures to challenge Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez for Golden Boot in the upcoming season.

Atlanta United’s season will begin on Feb. 21 when it plays at Herediano in the CONCACAF Champions League. The return game will be Feb. 28 at Kennesaw State. Atlanta United’s league season will begin March 3 at D.C. United.
