There’s a word for a Georgia Tech football fan who’ll rise at the crack of dawn on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend to watch their beloved Yellow Jackets kick off the season half a world away.
Crazy.
No, no, it’s “dedicated.” Yep, that’s the word we were going for.
Yes, it's true. Paul Johnson and his Jackets take on Boston College in Dublin on Saturday (That's Dublin, Ireland, by the way, just in case any of you were thinking of driving down to the one in Middle Georgia.) Game Time is a totally appropriate 12:30 p.m. at Aviva Stadium in Ireland — meaning it's a totally something else 7:30 a.m. back here in Atlanta.
Gulp.
The game is being shown on ESPN2, meaning you can just huddle under the covers in your Tech footie pajamas and watch from bed. But if you want to be out and about with fellow craz- er, dedicated types, a number of Atlanta watering holes have got you covered.
