Former Pebblebrook High School (Mableton) standout Collin Sexton was named the SEC co-Freshman of the Year, the league announced Tuesday. The Alabama point guard shared the honor with Kentucky freshman Kevin Knox.

Sexton is averaging 18.3 points and 3.6 assists per game to lead the Crimson Tide. He  was also named to the All-SEC Second Team and the All-Freshman team. The 6-foot-3 guard is projected to be a lottery pick in the June NBA draft.

Sexton becomes the second player in program history to win Freshman of the Year, joining Mo Williams who earned the honor in 2002.
