After helping the Hawks finish the regular season on a four-game win streak, guard Trae Young has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week by the NBA.

The award is for games played May 10-16 (with Hawks matchups against the Wizards, Magic and Rockets). Young averaged 24.3 points, 8.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds over that span, shooting 47.1% from the field and going 96.4% from the line (27-28). He was No. 6 in points per game and tied for No. 4 in assists per game, among Eastern Conference players.

With Young helping the Hawks finish the season strong, they were able to secure the No. 5 seed and will face the No. 4 seed Knicks in the first round of the playoffs (Atlanta’s first playoff appearance since the 2016-17 season).

This is Young’s third time winning Player of the Week (also winning for games played March 18-24 of 2019 and Oct. 22-27 of 2019).
