John Collins may have to start cranking out a T-shirt after every time he pulls off a crazy dunk, if his teammates have anything to say about it.

Collins, who famously wore a shirt of him posterizing Joel Embiid in the Eastern Conference semifinals to his postgame press conference after Game 7, had another crazy highlight in the Hawks’ loss to the Cavaliers in Wednesday’s exhibition game. Off a high toss from rookie Sharife Cooper, Collins vaulted up, and with one hand perfectly finished the slam over Jarrett Allen.

After the game, teammates (and the entire internet) asked Collins if he would make another shirt featuring the moment, but given it’s just the preseason, it’s not the most likely outcome. If another moment deserves a shirt, though, it may happen in the future.

“We’ll see what the people want, if I need to go out there and get some more, a crazy amount of people asking, I might, but for right now I’m trying to keep it cool, keep it preseason,” Collins said.

The pass from Cooper was a bit high, though Collins jumped high enough that it didn’t matter.

“Nice to have him set me up as he did,” Collins said of Cooper. “We talked about the play a little bit before, but he said he thought he threw me a little too high, so just glad I was able to go up there and get it and make a nice highlight play and finish it out.”

The Hawks ended up losing the game, but wins don’t remotely matter in the preseason. It’s more about getting injured guys up to speed, giving rookies playing time and players getting back in the swing of things, as Collins clearly has.
