Defensive tackle Anthony Rush, who made his debut in the 27-25 win over the Saints, was signed to the 53-man roster by the Falcons on Monday.

Rush, who’s 6-foot-4 and 361 pounds, played 25 of 76 defensive snaps (33%) against the Saints and made an impact with three tackles. Rush was on the practice squad. He received some of the snaps that would have gone to Jonathan Bullard, who was out with a concussion.

Rush, who played at Alabama-Birmingham, has played in 17 NFL games and made 17 tackles, four tackles for losses and has two pass breakups. He’s played with the Eagles, Packers, Seahawks and Titans.

“He’s a guy that has come in, he’s trying to learn the system,” Falcons defensive line coach Gary Emanuel said recently. “Learn everything, but he’s another guy that has a high football IQ. He works extremely hard. He has a good skill set. So, we anticipate him probably helping before the season’s out.”

In other minor moves, the Falcons released kicker Elliot Fry from the practice squad, activated running back Caleb Huntley from practice squad/injured reserve and waived tight end Ryan Becker and defensive tackle Deadrin Senat from injured reserve.

Senat was a third-round pick by the Falcons in 2018. He played in 15 games as a rookie and made two starts. He played sparingly in 2019 and 2020.
