FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons backup quarterback Josh Rosen played for former Falcons coach Jim Mora at UCLA from 2015-17.

Mora, 59, was named the head coach at Connecticut on Thursday.

“That’s awesome,” Rosen said Friday. “I’m happy for him. Hopefully, he does really well up there.”

Mora, who was known to throw a temper tantrum, was the Falcons coach from 2004-06. He took the Falcons to the NFC title game in 2004. Mora was UCLA’s head coach from 2012-17 and has been a TV analyst since 2017.

Mora — the son of long-time NFL coach Jim E. Mora — went 31-33 in the NFL over four seasons. He was 46-30 in college.
