Falcons safety Dean Marlowe has reached out to a survivor of the Uvalde school shooting.

Falcons safety Dean Marlowe has reached out to a survivor of the Uvalde school shooting who was interviewed on national television wearing his No. 21 jersey.

Daniel Ruiz appeared with his mother on CNN over the weekend from outside Robb Elementary School in Texas. He wore Marlowe’s red Falcons jersey and a team hat during the interview.

After seeing the interview, Marlowe took to social media for help to get in touch with the boy. He tweeted: “Someone help me get in touch with this family. I would love to send some signed gear!!”

A team representative responded on Twitter that the organization would make an effort to get Marlowe in touch with Daniel.

Nine-year-old Daniel survived the shooting by hiding under a large table. His cousin Ellie Garcia was one of the 19 children killed. Daniel said he climbed out a broken window to safety after his teacher survived being shot.

Marlowe signed a one-year contract with the Falcons as a free agent in April after spending last season with the Lions. He has also played for the Panthers and Bills after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2015 from James Madison.

Following the school shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead, Falcons owner Arthur Blank donated $100,000 each to Sandy Hook Promise and The Health Alliance for Violence Intervention.
