The Braves enjoyed an off day Monday before playing 14 consecutive games without a break. They have only one more off day remaining after Monday (Sept. 27).

With 20 games left, the Braves lead the Phillies by 4-1/2 games in the National League East. They lead the Mets, who won a series against the Yankees over the weekend, by five games. The upcoming stretch might determine the Braves’ fate.

They open a three-game series against the Rockies on Tuesday before embarking on a three-city western trip to San Francisco, Phoenix and San Diego. The Braves’ final homestand is against the Phillies and Mets, but they’ll hope the pressure is on their rivals by the time that rolls around in late September.

During the hour-long ceremony leading to the unveiling of the statue of Martin Luther King Jr. at the state Capitol on Monday, many speakers, including Gov. Nathan Deal, spoke of King's biography.
