Pero Antic is no longer wearing a walking boot but there is no timetable on when he may be fully recovered from the right ankle stress fracture. The Hawks forward/center has been out two weeks with the injury. The original diagnosis called for him to be out two to four weeks.

Friday was the first day out of the boot for Antic after he was cleared following a doctor’s appointment Thursday.

A decision was made by the Hawks that Antic will not participate in next Friday’s Rising Stars Challenge, the rookie-sophomore game as a part of All-Star weekend in New Orleans. Friday afternoon Antic said no decision had been made on his status for the exhibition and he would wait to get final word from doctors. Hours later, the Hawks informed the NBA that Antic would not be able to play. The league later issued a release with news that Antic had been replaced in the game by the Suns’ Miles Plumlee.
