Adrian Peterson signs one-year contract with Washington Redskins

Running back Adrian Peterson agreed to a one-year contract with the Washington Redskins Monday.
Redskins announced they officially have signed RB Adrian Peterson.

Peterson later posted to his personal Twitter confirming the news.

Washington Redskins safety D.J. Swearinger welcomed veteran the running back to the team.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates, Peterson’s deal is worth $1.015 million.

The 33-year-old veteran running back spent 10 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, making seven Pro Bowls during that time.
Peterson signed a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints in April 2017, then the running back was traded to the Arizona Cardinals in October. Arizona released Peterson after the 2017 season.
The Redskins open the NFL regular season on Sept. 9 against the Arizona Cardinals. The game will be broadcasted on FOX beginning at 4:25 p.m.
