The decision to hold the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia has already interested a record number of fans.

Since the announcement in late February, over 156,000 fans from all 50 states registered for the NFL Draft Experience, according to the League.

The Draft will take place in an outdoor theatre on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art from April 27 through April 29.

The move would return the NFL Draft to its roots— the first NFL Draft was held in 1936 in Philadelphia at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The last time the Draft was held in Philadelphia was in 1961 at the Warwick Hotel.

Before the 2016 Draft was held at the Auditorium Theatre at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill., the Draft had not left New York City since 1965.
