A 69-year-old Warner Robins man is in stable condition after being stabbed twice in the chest Friday, news outlet WGXA reported, citing police and the man's niece.

Johnnie Lee Stubbs, who lives in the house in the 200 block of Ward Street where the incident happened with two others, told officers he was sleeping on the couch when he was stabbed about 3:30 a.m., news outlet WMAZ reported.
Stubbs was taken to Navicent Health, his niece told WGXA.

Stubbs said he didn’t know the man, WMAZ reported.

The Warner Robins Police Department is continuing to investigate.
