An 18-year-old Flowery Branch man surrendered to police Monday, more than four months after he allegedly punched a man at a basketball court and unlawfully took custody of another teenager.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Jesse Brian Quintanilla had warrants out for his arrest since September.

The charges stemmed from two separate incidents, the sheriff’s office said, the first of which was Aug. 23. Quintanilla was playing basketball at a Flowery Branch community center when he hit another man in the ear, “which caused severe bleeding and a puncture wound,” officials said.

Almost two weeks later, Quintanilla allegedly violated custody laws when he left with a 16-year-old girl. The sheriff’s office said the teens were acquainted and she willingly left with him.

In the following days, arrest warrants were issued in both cases.
