Wednesday was not the morning to be on the top-end Perimeter after a tractor-trailer wreck jammed traffic in both directions for miles.

The crash, which according to the Georgia Department of Transportation involved the truck and a car, happened before 9:30 a.m. on I-285 eastbound near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

There were injuries involved, but the extent of those injuries was not immediately known.

All but one eastbound lane was blocked for about an hour, along with a couple of westbound lanes.

GDOT traffic cameras showed eastbound traffic backed up about six miles to beyond Roswell Road, while the westbound jam stretched about nine miles to LaVista Road.

The wreckage was cleared and the lanes were reopened to traffic at about 10:30 a.m.
