More than 1,500 people have been forced to evacuate from two Chilean towns after a series of volcano eruptions.
The country's National Geology and Mining Service says the Calbuco volcano erupted twice in just 24 hours. The first eruption was reported Wednesday.
The eruption prompted red alerts for the towns of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas in southern Chile. CNN reports that both towns are popular tourist destinations.
It's the first time in more than 40 years that the volcano has erupted.
Within a few hours, time-lapse video of the eruption made its way onto YouTube. It has been viewed close to 500,000 times.
