One of the hottest peppers lulls eaters into false sense of security

The Komodo Dragon is now making its hot presence known in the produce aisles.

It's not a lizard, but rather the UK's hottest commercially grown chili pepper, The Guardian reported.

It measures 1.4 million Scoville units, the official chart of how hot peppers are.

To put it into perspective, a jalapeno is about 2,500 Scoville units. A bell pepper is a 0 and a habanero is between 100,000 and 350,000.

The Komodo Dragon has an unusual trait compared to other peppers. It has a delayed reaction, The Guardian reported.

Hot chili pepper lovers, take a deep breath, grab some milk and prepare for meltdown: the Komodo Dragon has arrived.
