Investigators have found what may have caused February's deadly train crash in Germany.

A week after the crash, prosecutors said the dispatcher was responsible for the accident, but wasn't able to elaborate on how the 39-year-old unnamed rail worker could have contributed, CNN reported.

But this week, investigators say that moments before two trains collided head-on, the dispatcher was playing video games on his phone.

The game distracted him from keeping track of traffic crossing into Bavaria, Germany.

The BBC reported that the dispatcher also made a signaling error and then dialed the wrong emergency number.

German investigators said his game was more than a "temporary failure," but instead a "dereliction of duty."

The dispatcher has been accused of manslaughter.

The crash killed 11 people. Another 24 passengers had severe injuries and 61 had less serious injuries when two trains, which were on the same track, smashed into each other. The trains were going about 62 mph at the moment of the crash.
