A dog buried alive has sparked outrage across the world, and its owner has been taken into custody.
The dog was found Saturday, The Telegraph reported.
The French mastiff was found with her head sticking out of the ground. Stones surrounded her and her leash was attached to gravel to prevent her from escaping.
She was found in shock and dehydrated.
Police tracked down the dog's alleged owner who claimed that he did not bury the dog, but instead claimed the dog ran away.
Now animal lovers have taken to social media, calling for the maximum sentence for the owner, who could be sent to jail for two years, and faces a fine of up to 30,000 euros, or $32,600, The Telegraph reported.
