Christian Hickey wants a remote control helicopter, "Minecraft" and a "Jurassic World" video game.

But it's item No. 1 that will make you think.

He is asking Santa to "help the police catch the people who hurt me."

The letter was posted to the Greater Manchester Police Department's Facebook page.

Christian and his mother Jayne were shot on their doorstep when they answered their door.

The shots hit Jayne twice in her leg. Christian was shot once in his leg, police said.

"It is heart wrenching to know that a little boy who should be writing a list filled with exciting gifts, has got this at the top of his Christmas list," Detective Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson posted.

"What happened to Christian will stay with him for the rest of his life but what we can do is try to make this up to him by finding those responsible and bringing them to justice," Jackson added.
