The Haralson County home where a 2-year-old was killed in a fire did not have a working smoke alarm, the state fire marshal's office said Wednesday.

Levi Andrew Robinson died Tuesday morning in the fire, which also his injured his mother and a sibling. Both the mother and child were hospitalized, but expected to be released late Wednesday, according to a spokesman the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office.

Firefighters were called to a South Kelley Street home in Tallapoosa around 10 a.m. Tuesday and arrived to find the home engulfed. Investigators believe the fire was electrical, but an official cause has not been determined.

Tallapoosa is about 60 miles west of downtown Atlanta, off I-20.
