Police have identified a woman shot in the back Friday night in the parking lot of a Midtown hotel.

Twila Jenkins, 38, of Atlanta, was listed in critical condition Friday night after being shot at the America’s Best Value Inn in the 1600 block of Peachtree Street, police said. Details on her condition were unavailable Saturday.

Police found Jenkins next to a cargo van in the parking lot after responding to a call at the hotel shortly after 9 p.m. She was later transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police detained a man for questioning, but still had not made an arrest Saturday, said Atlanta Police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones. “The investigation continues,” Jones said.
