Dunwoody police say a 79-year-old woman died after she was involved in a car crash Monday afternoon.

According to a police news release, Roberta Sedam of Dunwoody was attempting to turn left onto eastbound Mount Vernon Road from Hidden Branches Drive when a vehicle going westbound struck her vehicle.

When officers arrived, Sedam was alert and conscious but was having difficulty breathing. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital but later died due to a combination of her prior health and the injuries sustained in the crash.

No occupants of the other vehicle were injured.

Police say the other driver will not be charged in the crash as the preliminary investigation showed that Sedam failed to yield to traffic after stopping at a stop sign. Speed was not a factor in the crash, officials added.

Anyone with additional information about the crash is asked to contact Officer Joseph Tomalka at 678-382-6900.
