A woman has been charged in a wrong-way crash that shut down part of I-285 Wednesday morning.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the crash happened about 3 a.m. in the southbound lanes, near the Langford Parkway exit.

Police told Channel 2 Toya Walton was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when she hit five cars. Two people were taken to Atlanta Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the television station.

“It’s amazing to me, in this case, that no one was more seriously injured, even the wrong-way driver risking a head-on collision like that,” Atlanta police Sgt. Greg Lyon told Channel 2. “I think everyone involved is extremely lucky.”

Walton has been charged with DUI and other charges, according to Channel 2.

Authorities have reopened two lanes of I-285 that were closed while they investigated the crash.
