A 20-year-old woman is charged with murder after Atlanta police accused her of fatally shooting a man in the head.

Andrea Simpson was arrested Saturday in connection with the shooting, which happened one week prior on Aug. 14, according to Atlanta police.

Officers were sent to the 400 block of Oakdale Road about 5:30 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head, officials said. He was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Few details have been released about what led to the fatal shooting or how Simpson was identified as a suspect. In a Facebook post, Atlanta police said warrants were taken out against Simpson on the day of the shooting.

Simpson was taken into custody at a location along Holly Road. She was taken to Atlanta police headquarters for an interview before being booked into the Fulton County Jail.

In addition to murder, she is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
