Nearly three years elapsed between the theft of a $25,000 Swiss watch and the arrest of the woman accused of swindling its owner.

Asjah R. Coleman surrendered to authorities last month at the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, according to Atlanta police. She was wanted in connection with an Aug. 24, 2018, armed robbery at the St. Regis Hotel in Buckhead.

According to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the victim told police he and a friend met two women at the hotel bar and invited them to their rooms. The victim left with a woman called Jordan, while his friend left with a woman called Ariana, who was later identified by police as Coleman.

While the victim was in his bathroom, he said he heard Jordan open the door for Ariana but also heard a man enter the room. He exited the bathroom to see a man wearing all black with a gray ski mask holding a silver handgun, according to the report.

He handed over his Audemar Piquet watch, which he valued at $25,000, and was not injured, he told police.

Police said detectives were quickly able to identify Coleman and Montez Daniels, the suspected gunman. They tracked Daniels to Miami and he was arrested a few months after the robbery, but Coleman was at large until March 19.
