A Cobb County woman is accused of stealing at least $200,000 from a private school where she previously served as the assistant director.

Jannis Laverne Parsons, 44, allegedly stole the money between January 2006 and June 2010 while working as the assistant director of the Covered Bridge Montessori School in Smyrna, according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“Said accused would either accept cash payments and not deposit them to the company bank account or accept check payments and not process the check to the company bank account,” the arrest warrant states.

Parsons surrendered Sunday and was charged with felony theft by taking. She remained Monday in the Cobb County jail, where she was being held on $200,000 bond.
