Below, we’ve listed some helpful information about what to expect for delivery hours and mailing services on Christmas Eve:

USPS

USPS mail will still be delivered as usual on Christmas Eve, and the holiday will not affect hours, according to Newsweek. USPS Blue Collection Boxes will be affected by the federal holiday, and all mail will be collected by noon. Post office hours will vary by location, so check with your local post office. There will be no postal service or open offices on Christmas Day.

Amazon

Amazon’s website explains that items will not arrive by Christmas Day beyond purchases made Dec. 22. However, the service still is delivering Dec. 24.

If you placed your order after the “order by” window on Dec. 23 or if it was ordered without Prime, it is not likely that it will be delivered to its intended destination in time for Christmas. If you’re hoping to offer a quick option for your online shopper, there is an option to order an Amazon e-gift card on any day as a last-minute gift.

FedEx

Since FedEx is privately owned, it will not observe the federal holiday on Christmas Eve.  However, FedEx Express and FedEx Office will run with modified service Dec. 24, and FedEx Freight will not operate.

All FedEx services except for FedEx Custom Critical will be closed Christmas Day.

UPS

UPS mail will deliver on Christmas Eve because UPS, like FedEx, does not observe U.S. government holidays.

UPS observes Christmas Day, so regular UPS mail will not be delivered Dec. 25 and regular UPS services will not operate. Only UPS Express Critical mail will be delivered on Christmas Day.
