Those new beards, craft beers and bike lanes have not gone unnoticed.
Hipsters are proliferating in Atlanta neighborhoods and the most "hipster" areas may surprise you.
American Community Survey assigned a “hipster score” between one and five for neighborhoods in metro Atlanta. These rankings were based on four criteria: number of cafés per 10,000 people, number of yoga studios per 10,000 people, percent of residents with bachelor’s degrees and percent of residents ages 20-34.
These three neighborhoods achieved the highest hipster score of exactly 4.38: Atlantic Station, Brookwood and Buckhead Village.
Ardmore, Blandtown and Home Park come in very close behind with a scores of 4.37 each.
Woodland Hills in Decatur ranks first in yoga studios, with nearly 20 studios per 10,000 people.
Peachtree Center wins the café battle with nearly 120 cafés per 10,000 people.
Springlake may have the most educated hipsters – 97.7% of its residents have a bachelor’s degree. Memorial Park, directly north of Springlake, is a close second as 97.6% of residents there hold bachelor’s degrees too.
