Officials found weapons in a vehicle during a routine search of the student parking lot Monday at Smiths Station (Alabama) High School, according to WTVM.
Several weapons were discovered in the unattended vehicle, according to WTVM.
School administrators and the school resource officer team quickly found the vehicle’s owner, the TV station reported.
Officials did not confirm the type of weapons found, according to WTVM. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office retrieved the weapons, the TV station reported.
No one’s safety was at risk, Lee County Schools superintendent Dr. Mac McCoy told WTVM.

The person who reportedly brought the weapons onto school property has not been identified, the TV station reported.
