DeKalb County police have identified the two people shot late Monday night at an apartment complex on Memorial Drive.

The victims were identified Wednesday as 29-year-old Verdell Bee and 24-year-old Princess Stanford, both of Decatur. The two were boyfriend and girlfriend, DeKalb police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore said.

Officers responding to a 10 p.m. report of gunshots at the Soluna Park Apartments found the two inside a car, both with multiple gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fore on Wednesday said a champagne-colored Oldsmobile or Impala was seen near the site of the shooting, but investigators are not sure if the vehicle is connected to the incident.

Investigators still do not believe the shooting was random, Fore said, but a motive remains undetermined.
