A teen driver faces charges after he allegedly struck Euharlee’s police chief Wednesday morning, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The incident happened about 7:30 a.m. as Chief Terry J. Harget was directing traffic at Woodland Middle School on Euharlee Road, the State Patrol told Channel 2 Action News.

Alex Jordan Rouse, 18, of Euharlee, was driving a 2002 Chrysler Concorde when he struck Harget, officials said. The chief had minor injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Rouse was charged with failure to obey an authorized person directing traffic.
