UPDATED: FBI agents break Gwinnett car burglary; Dunwoody PD assists

FBI agents interrupted suspected car burglars off of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Tuesday, which led a police chase for the low-level but annoying property crime that ended with an arrest in Dunwoody.

The federal agents were in the area on an “unrelated matter” and called Gwinnett police, said FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett.

A Gwinnett officer attempted to stop the car at Peachtree Industrial and Reps Miller Road, said Cpl. Jake Smith, spokesman for Gwinnett Police. The officer’s arm was grazed by the suspect vehicle when it fled.

The FBI agents pursed the suspects into DeKalb County, which was outside Gwinnett PD jurisdiction, Smith said. The Gwinnett officer had minor injuries.

The first suspect was arrested in a Dunwoody office park near the intersection of Ashford-Dunwoody Road and I-285 at the end of the chase. The second was arrested around 6 p.m.
