We’re still trying to confirm details about a medical emergency near the race start line in Buckhead that caused race organizers to hold back runners for a few minutes earlier this morning. An officer told an AJC reporter that a man went into cardiac arrest near the Intercontinental Hotel and reporters saw paramedics performing CPR on an individual. An Atlanta Police Department spokesperson said the person was alive and being transported to the hospital.
