Two children found alone on Atlanta street OK, family comes for them

May 22, 2015

Family of two young children found alone on a downtown Atlanta street Thursday afternoon were speaking with investigators Thursday night, Atlanta police spokesman officer Ralph Woolfolk said.

The children were not injured, Woolfolk said, adding that “it does not appear any charges will be filed at this time.”

The children — a 4-year-old and 6-year-old — were found outside the Georgia Pacific building near John Wesley Dobbs Avenue, and no guardian immediately came for them. They were taken to Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital where they were “alert, breathing and conscious,” Woolfolk said.

The initial call about the children came in around 3:30 p.m., online records showed.
