Two charged in DeKalb Kroger carjacking, shooting identified

Two men arrested in a carjacking and shooting Wednesday night outside a Kroger on Moreland Avenue in DeKalb County have been identified and charged.

Javon Ross, 17, and Victor Moore, 20, are charged with hijacking a motor vehicle and aggravated assault and are in DeKalb County Jail.

Police determined that a third suspect did not take part and was not charged.

The carjacking occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a Kroger near Confederate Ave.

Laquan Taylor, 27, of Loganville was approached at his car by armed men demanding his keys. He gave them the keys but as he began walking toward the entrance of the store, he was shot at several times and hit.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition, while the suspects left in the car.

Officers spotted the stolen car off Glenwood Road on Meadowglades Drive at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, and three men who fled on foot from it were caught.
