The two boys abducted by their father Thursday were found safe with their grandparents, Duluth police said.

Thursday morning, a Department of Family and Children Services worker visited 55-year-old John Daniel Blue’s home to take the two boys into protective custody. Blue reportedly took the children in his van, rammed the worker’s vehicle and drove away.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation sent out an alert Thursday afternoon for Zailan J. Blue, 10, and Jaquez Blue, 14.

The children were found in South Carolina when their grandfather contacted local authorities, telling them he had the children in his custody. Blue turned himself in to police in Norcross late Thursday night and was transferred to Duluth police custody.

He has been charged with two counts of interference with custody and one count of aggravated assault.
