Two people believed to be husband and wife were found dead of an apparent murder-suicide in an Atlanta home early Christmas morning.

Investigators just before 4 a.m. were called out to a home in the 900 block of Mayson Turner Road, where they found one person dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and another with several stab wounds to the torso, Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Kim Y. Jones said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as Charles Love, 59, and Florence Love, 55. They were believed to be husband and wife, Senior Investigator Mark Guilbeau told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“We think that he stabbed her and shot himself, but neither autopsy has been done,” Guilbeau said, adding that the autopsies were scheduled to be performed Friday.

Jones said investigators learned that the man called his brother and a neighbor and made incriminating statements concerning the death of the woman.
