MARTA Army wants your opinion on Atlanta bus stops
If your main obstacle to taking public transportation is the bus stop, here’s your chance to change that.
The MARTA Army, an independent nonprofit committed to improving your ridership experience on Atlanta’s mass transit system, has launched Operation Bus Stop Census so riders can make their voices heard.

And now @morgan_jacobus introduces our new operation #OperationBusStopCensus. Many bus stops in the Atlanta area lack basic features, like a sidewalk that allows you to access the stop safely, in a wheelchair or with a stroller. They have poor conditions, like overflowing trash..

Now you can tell MARTA what it’s really like to catch the bus. Is there a sidewalk or do you have to stand in weeds? Is there any shade during Atlanta’s brutal summer? Does your stop have older residents but nowhere for them to sit?
Let MARTA know. Here’s how it works.
Go to busstopcensus.com and click "Start." You should see a map with MARTA's train stations and park & ride lots. Click on the one you use. Now you should see bus stops that service that station. Find yours. When you click the blue indicator, you'll see a link for "Take the Bus Stop Census." Click it and fill out the form. It's that easy.

The census started Tuesday, and responses are already being posted on social media.
This is my bus stop. It’s not adequate at all. Would you let your kids catch the bus here? Do you want to stand and wait here?

1) Desire path. No sidewalks, either side.
2) Drain through sidewalk. Good luck in a wheelchair, esp in the 🌧
3) Location: next to lots of residential development, including big multifamily buildings, a short way from a shopping center. pic.twitter.com/1Mw7zMDeYi
I got 5 today!

Also: note the free response box. You can write anything here. For example: “this stop is hot as hades from May to October, please make shade” or “this stop is where I captured my favorite scene from #JaneTheVirgin “ Really, share your thoughts ! https://t.co/EdzlGqJ3vc
Great to see @MARTAarmy doing this. The sort of transit advocacy most needed in the Atlanta region IMO. https://t.co/Le4PYvnyRm
