Atlantans still don’t know when the city’s new streetcar will start running, but now they know how much it will cost.

After a three-month introductory period during which people will be able to ride free, a one-way trip anywhere along the 2.7-mile track from Centennial Olympic Park to King Center will cost a dollar. A one-day pass will run $3. A five-day visitor pass will be $10, a weekly pass, $11, and a monthly pass, $40.

Children younger than 2 will ride for free.

The Atlanta City Council approved the fare structure for the Atlanta Streetcar on Monday. The city is still working with MARTA to determine the cost to transfer between the streetcar and MARTA train or bus service, said Sharon Gavin, spokeswoman for the Atlanta Streetcar.

The city will begin testing the streetcar on the tracks in coming weeks. Earlier this month, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the streetcar would miss its planned summer opening and will not launch until around November. The article also noted that the streetcar’s opening day had been set back several times.

Mayor Kasim Reed has previously said the streetcar would open by year’s end.
